    Remembering #29 Trevor Boardway

Remembering #29 Trevor Broadway.  Trevor was a big part of the Muskegon Voyagers during the first three years of the team.

Trevor’s dedication to his family, the game of hockey, his teammates and his all-star caliber craft will be forever the rich legacy he leaves with us.

A highly-respected and loved teammate, Trevor was an original charter member of the Voyagers team and a major, key contributing member of all three consecutive Voyagers MIHL League Championships.

Through his first two seasons, Trevor was ranked as the number one goaltender in the entire MIHL.  During his third season, though injured, and with Voyagers Head Coach Derek Smith experiencing health issues, Trevor stepped in behind the Voyagers bench to assist, lending his steady, guiding hand in staying the course for a third consecutive Championship.

“The Boardway Barricade” and its prominent presence became so instrumental in the birth, growth and stability of the young league that the MIHL’s annual award for the league’s top goaltender now bares his name in his honor – “The Trevor Boardway MIHL Goaltender of the Year.”

Trevor is missed by many throughout the hockey world.

Outside of Hockey Trevor enjoys spending time with his wife Nikki and two daughters Brooklyn and Nova. He also enjoys golf, refereeing hockey, barbecuing, and playing softball.

    Interview with Terry Ficorelli

An interview of the Voice of the Voyagers hockey, Terry Ficocelli

    On 4/12/25 Finals game 5, was Terry's 3929 game.

    On 4/12/26 Quarter-Finals game 3, Terry was 3972.

As the calendar year 2025 is coming to a close, it's time to update the number of Hockey games that Terry Ficorelli has broadcasted over the years.

3949 hockey games and counting.....  at the end of the 2024-2025 season on April 12, 2025 with the Muskegon Voyagers winning their 4th Bill Long Memorial Cup,  Terry has called 3929 games. Besides being the Voice of the Voyagers, Terry is also calling games for Hope College this season, thus the extra games 9 games.

3972 hockey games at the end of the 25-26 season, MIHL Quarter-finals, and Hope College

The Voyagers have played 11 of their 24 games for the 2025-2026 season. With the remaining 15 games, the 2026 MIHL Playoffs in the Spring, and Hope games, Terry will be close to 3980 games and 4000 could be reached during the 2026-2027 season.  That's a huge accomplishment.

Here's the 2024 article written about FIC reaching 3900 games.  This is also linked on our website Home page.

Fic has had a very long career in hockey broadcasting. Fans around the minors remember him for his style and knowledge of hockey.
